ZTE has launched a budget friendly smartphone called the ZTE ZMax for approx $252 in the U.S. This handset houses the qualcomm 400 quad core chipset, runs KitKat 4.4.2 over a 5.7 inch HD screen.

The ZTE ZMax will be available from 24th September (in the U.S.) for $253 without contract and with contract users can get the ZMax for Zero down payment and $10.50 per month for 24 months (contract). This handset comes with a big screen of 5.7 inches supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

ZMax is using the 1.2GHz qualcomm snapdragon 400 quad core processor coupled with Adreno 305 GPU and runs KitKat out of the box. There is a good 2GB on board RAM and 16GB storage. There is Micro SD card option too. This smartphone also comes packed with dual cameras. The front camera is 1.6MP resolution and the rear camera is 8MP resolution. Rear camera can shoot full HD videos at 30fps.

Key features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi. The ZTE ZMax comes with a 3400 mAh battery with talk time of up to 13 hours.
