ZTE a well known company in China and the 4th largest handset manufacturer has set its base in India. They have partnered with two companies in India who will handle the distribution of their smartphones and data cards.
Calyx Telecommunications, a Pune based firm with handle the smartphone distribution and another firm called Digilife will take care of the data card distribution. To start off ZTE has launched 6 new smartphones with price range from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 15,000 and 4 new data card devices.
Check out the ZTE handsets listed below. The quad cores are probably with MT6589M and the price seems on the higher side when you compare it with other brands spec / price wise.
ZTE Grand X quad lite
This dual SIM handset comes with quad core processor @ 1.2GHz with 1GB RAM and 4GB storage. It runs on Android 4.2 OS. The screen is 5 inches with HD resolution. There is 5MP rear and a 0.3MP front camera. 720p video recording is supported (probably it’s with MT6589M processor but it could be with the MT6589 processor too – needs confirmation). The battery is 2500 mAh capacity. This ZTE Grand X quad lite is priced at Rs. 14,999.
ZTE Blade L
This 4.7 inch handset with dual core processor clocked at 1.2GHz comes with 512MB RAM / 4GB storage, 5MP AF camera and 0.3MP front camera. It runs on the Android ICS OS and is priced at Rs. 12,599.
ZTE Blade G2
This dual SIM handset is powered by 1GHz quad core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. Rear camera is 5MP and front camera is 0.3MP. Handset runs on android 4.1 OS. HD video recording is supported. The screen is 4.5 inches with 854×480 pixels resolution. The Blade G2 comes for Rs. 11,599.
ZTE Blade E
This handset sports a 4.5 inch IPS screen with FWVGA resolution. It runs on the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS and is powered by quad core @ 1.2GHz. Other features are 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera. The handset can record HD videos. Blade E is priced at Rs. 11,999.
ZTE Blade C
This dual SIM handset is with a 4 inch screen with 800×480 pixels resolution. It runs on Android 4.1 OS with 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. There is 3MP rear fixed focus camera. HD video recording is supported. Blade C is powered by 1GHz processor, 2000 mAh battery and is priced at Rs. 7,599.
ZTE Kis Flex
Kis Flex is a dual SIM handset with 3.5 inch QVGA screen running Android 2.3 with 256MB RAM and 512MB storage. It is powered by 1GHz processor, supports 3G and comes with 2MP fixed focus camera. The battery is 1200 mAh capacity. This handset is priced at Rs. 5,799.
ZTE Data card devices
The 4 data cards launched are ZTE Swift with voice for Rs. 1,799, Swift plus for Rs. 1,999, Swift WPlus (with wi-fi) for Rs. 2,250 and Swift Speed with voice for Rs. 2,499.
The handset specs / price may not be that tempting but it will be interesting to see if ZTE will launch the Firefox based handset in India.
