ZTE the Chinese telecom major will soon enter the Indian market probably by October. They have already tied up with an Indian firm and as per their goal plan they want to become one of the top mobile handset vendors in India.

ZTE though may be a new name for many Indian consumers they already have an in-direct experience in India. They are providing handsets to Reliance, Idea cellular and even Micromax. And now they want to enter as a direct – key player.

They have tied up with Calxy telecom firm who will take care of their marketing, distribution, sales and ZTE itself will handle the after sales, services and customer care. They are planning to hit the Indian markets by October end by launching five products (smartphones) with a price range between Rs. 5000 to Rs. 15000.

As per their plan ZTE will initially launch the handsets and later on will also join the tablet bandwagon. To start with they will be targeting 5 states in India (Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa) – 60 town / cities.
