The build quality is very good, but it is delicate. The back cover is black color with matte finish. A free flip cover is included in the box, it is similar to as seen on the XOLO Q1010 handset, but without the threading (style).

This handset houses dual SIM slots, you need two normal SIM’s. XOLO Q1100 weight with battery is 149 grams and dimensions are 70.78 x 143.17 x 8.45mm.

xolo q1100 review and gaming review

Entertainment and Gaming
The Q1100 can play full HD videos in H/W as well as S/W mode. The sound I felt was lower than as experienced on other handsets.

Asphalt 8 got some new updates as a result I had to download the whole data file once again. MC4 and Asphalt 8 got installed on the external storage. Game play was smooth. Asphalt 8 worked great even in high graphics mode.

Camera
The camera is indeed impressive. The street light shot look really good, much brighter. Long shots and close up are as good as seen on other high end phones. The rear 8MP camera can record full HD videos at 15fps and 720p at 30fps. Front camera is 2MP, with decent output. The video quality is good but in 1080p mode it took time auto focusing and in 720p the auto focus is quite erratic.

XOLO will soon roll out camera hawk feature update OTA with a user friendly interface.

Others
The handset comes pre-loaded with Snapdragon Battery Guru app that will help improve the battery performance based on your usage. There is an X TransPic app that translates text from Hindi to English and it can also read (voice output). You can use the camera to shoot the text and get it converted right away.

Reverie Phone book is another exciting app that comes pre-installed. It converts phone book content into the supported regional languages. 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth worked well. GPS is fast, got a lock in less than 3 seconds.

It is a dual SIM handset – SIM 1 supports 3G and SIM 2 supports 2G.

When downloading heavy stuffs using Wi-Fi, many a times the process would stop. I faced some issues with the Cell Broadcast app, it just wouldn’t switch off the notifications.

Battery
The 2000 mAh battery does a good job. I tested it without the battery saver app and also disabled the Snapdragon Battery Guru app. I played around with the benchmark apps for about 21 minutes the battery dropped by 10%. When I played the MC4 and Asphalt 8 game for about 17 minutes the battery dropped by 9%. The max temperature I encountered was 42 degrees.

Battery will last for about 3 to 4 hours with heavy usage i.e. playing high end games or when using heavy apps. The battery charges quickly well under 2 and a half hours.

Verdict
If brand does not matter the XOLO Q1100 is a good alternative to the Moto G handset. Though Moto G is with a tough build the Q1100 is a bit delicate but looks smarter. Q1100 performance is a little better.

This handset is available in retail stores and online.
