Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y1 a new handset in the Y Series, in fact they also launched the Redmi Y1 Lite edition that is a trimmed down version and comes with a trimmed down price. Y1 Lite is priced at Rs. 6,999, whereas the Redmi Y1 price starts from Rs. 8,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite specs are slightly different. This handset comes with dual SIM slots + a separate micro SD card slot, it features a 5.5 inch screen with 720p resolution just like the Redmi Y1. The processor however is different, on the Y1 Lite it is using Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad core processor with Adreno 308 GPU.
MIUI 8 runs out of the box and will get MIUI 9. There is 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM and 128GB micro SD card support. The rear camera is a 13MP shooter with a f/2.2 aperture and the front camera is a 5MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
Weight is 150 grams and thickness is 7.5mm, key features are 4G, VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, and Wi-Fi. Redmi Y1 Lite houses a 3080 mAh battery. This lighter version of Y1 is priced at Rs. 6,999. It will be available on Mi.com and Amazon from 8th November.
