Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 1s successor, it is called the Redmi 2 and it has been launched in China for 699 Yuan that comes to approx Rs. 7,200. Redmi 2 pre-orders starts today in China and the flash sales will commence on 9th Jan. No word about when this handset will be made available in India. Xiaomi Redmi 2 is a dual SIM handset sporting a 4.7 inch IPS screen (312 ppi) with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It is running MiUi 6 based on Android 4.4.4. This handset supports 4G and houses a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 64 bit 410 quad core processor (Cortex A53) with Adreno 306 GPU.
The Redmi 2 also comes packed with a decent 8 megapixel camera on the rear with flash and a 2 megapixel on the front. It is 9.4mm thick and weighs about 133 grams. The handset will be available in 5 different colour options.
There is 1GB RAM,8GB internal storage and 32GB external card support. Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. It is using the Samsung Li-Po 2200 mAh battery that should last for a day with moderate usage on a full charge.
