At a launch event in China today, Xiaomi launched their first VR headset called the Mi VR Play. This headset provides VR experience by connecting your smartphone. Mi VR Play looks a lot different when compared with other VR devices – its price had not yet been disclosed.
With Mi VR play Xiaomi wants to bring VR experience to the masses starting in China. Initially for limited number of selected users the Mi VR Play will be available for just RMB 1 (Rs. 10). The VR will be available in colorful options, its weight is 208 grams and it can accommodate smartphones from 4.7 inch to 5.7 inches in size.
Now the Mi VR Play looks different, it comes with a ZIP that will seal off the phone, secure it will prevent it from falling accidentally. The ZIP also to some extent prevents light from entering from the sides giving a better VR experience. There is a small opening on the front, users can use it to adjust the smartphone and it also provides some bit of air circulation.
Mi VR Play is using anti reflective lenses for better clarity. The VR is using Lightweight Lycra material and comes with metal button that is placed on the top for interactions. Users can download the Mi VR app for VR experience.
There is also news that the company has launched Luo Qing Mi umbrella, too.
