Along with Mi4, Xiaomi also launched a fitness tracking wrist band called the Mi Band. This cool looking device is priced at just $12. We might see this in India pretty soon, probably for under Rs. 1000.

The device looks similar to the Alcatel BoomBand. This Mi Band is your personal fitness monitor. It can track your sleeping habits; can unlock your phone without a password and can monitor the calories burned. It is water resistant – IP67 certified.

As per Xiaomi the Mi Band comes with the most power efficient Bluetooth chip. The standby time is up to a month. It comes with accelerometer too. There are no screen on the band just the LED indicators.

Wear it on your wrist and let it track your physical activities what’s more you can also use it to unlock the phone – as long as the band / smartphone is in the Bluetooth vicinity – you can set it to unlock the phone directly without entering the password.
