Xiaomi announced their in-house Surge S1 SOC and also the handset that will be the first one using the S1 chipset. Presenting the Xiaomi Mi 5c. The Mi 5c is priced at RMB 1499 that comes to approx Rs. 14,500.

Xiaomi Mi 5c features and specifications

The Mi 5c is packed inside a metal body and is light weight at just about 132 grams. This handset features a 5.15 inch screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. As mentioned it is powered by Surge S1 2.2GHz octa core processor with Mali T860 GPU.

It’s a dual SIM handset loaded with 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM. MIUI 8 runs out of the box, Mi 5c will get Nougat 7.1 update soon. Coming to the camera there is 12MP on the back with a f/2.2 aperture and front camera is with a f/2.0 aperture with 8MP resolution.

Other features are 4G LTE, VoLTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, USB Type C Port and WiFi. There is finger print sensor and IR blaster too. A 2860 mAh battery powers up this Mi 5c smartphone –  fast charging is supported.

Mi 5c will be available in China from 3rd March onwards, price starts from RMB 1499 (approx Rs. 14,500).
