Xiaomi Mi 5 will be officially launched on 31st March at an event in Delhi. The event will start from 2:30 PM onwards. Xiaomi had already revealed (at the Redmi Note 3 launch event) that they will bring the Mi 5 within few months and here it is.

The Mi 5 was already launched in China and the specifications are already known. Everyone will be looking for the price of Mi 5 in India, hopefully that will not disappoint many. Xiaomi MI 5 is powered by Snapdragon 820 quad core(Kryo) processor clocked at 2.1GHz.

This handset sports a 5.1 inch IPS screen with CGG4 protection and supporting 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It’s a dual SIM handset running Marshmallow with MIUI 7.0. Now this handset comes with RAM / ROM options and there is no micro SD card slot.

Xiaomi Mi 5 launching in India

Mi 5 comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM it’s called the Pro edition – it is highly unlikely that Xiaomi will launch this at the event in New Delhi on 31st. So what we can expect is the standard edition i.e. with 3GB RAM and options 32GB / 64GB ROM. I am not sure at this point if the company will make the 64GB available in India.

A 16MP camera is packed on the rear with dual LED flash and another attraction is the 4 axis OIS that should give really stable shots. Front camera is a 4MP (2µm pixel size). Other features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth  4.1, NFC, Type C port, Infrared port and finger print sensor.

Xiaomi Mi 5 houses a 3000 mAh battery (non-removable), will be available in Ceramic, Gold, Black and White colour options for …. well you will have to wait for the price – unveiling on 31st March.
