Starting today all Windows, Android and iPhone users using WhatsApp will be able to send GIF’s, Videos and Photos through WhatsApp Status. You can now post images, videos and GIF files via the status tab. Use this feature to share special moments throughout your day.

How to use WhatsApp Status

Make sure you are running latest WhatsApp version. When you run the application you will find the Status tab, there you will find status updates of other users in your list you can also create your own new status – it could be a image, video or  GIF files.

You have full control about who can view your status updates. In WhatAapp privacy settings you can control that i.e. who can view – my contacts, contacts except or only share with. There is a eye icon at the bottom of the status that will show you who viewed your status update.

Do note that all images, videos and GIF’s will be deleted automatically after 24 hours.

WhatsApp Status now available for all users

Users who view your update can also reply to that update via reply button. This is an interesting feature that will help you share your day with WhatsApp status.
