After the success of the low cost Wammy 7 tablet, Wickedleak have now upgraded it by added 3G functionality along with a couple of new feature. The Wammy Plus, what they call now comes for an attractive price tag of Rs. 11,499.
The main highlight is the built in 3G SIM slot that supports speed of up to 7.2 mbps – 5.7 mbps (HSPA+). There are very few tablet PC especially with an affordable price tag with phone functionality. If you may recall BSNL had recently launched the BSNL Penta TPAD WS704C a 3G tablet for a price of Rs. 13,199.
If you compare the Wammy 7 with Wammy Plus you will find few additional features on the plus version. The display screen and resolution is the same (7 inches / 800 x 480 pixels). There is no need for an external dongle on Wammy Plus which is an advantage.
The processor and RAM are the same i.e. Allwinner A10@ 1.2 GHz with 512 MB RAM. The Wammy plus runs on Android 4.0. The battery is the same at 3000 mAh. The plus version comes with dual camera (front and rear), built in GPS and of course the phone functionality.
The tablet comes with a single mini USB port (does not have the normal USB port as on the Wammy 7 model), 3.5 mm jack and HDMI port. Not to forget that the tab comes with host of pre-loaded apps with complete access to Google play. I don’t think there is a built in Bluetooth (will confim this).
With Wammy Plus you can receive / make calls, read SMS’s and even get directions using GPS and 3G for downloading maps on the move no matter where you are.
Stay tuned for more on the Wammy Plus the tablet is priced at Rs. 11,499 and delivery process will start from July 1st 2012.
