Swipe Telecom has unveiled the Konnect 5.0 a new quad core powered handset probably using the 1.3GHz MediaTek processor for Rs. 8,999. This is a dual SIM handset that runs Android 4.2 over a 5 inch screen.

On the hardware front the Swipe Konnect 5.0 is using 1.3GHz quad core processor most likely with Mali 400 GPU (depending if it’s using the MediaTek processor). The OGS screen is 5 inches with 960 x 540 (qHD) pixels resolution.

The handset weight is just 135 grams and thickness is 8.9mm. Also included is an 8MP camera (AF) on the rear with LED and 3.2MP on the front i.e. the secondary camera. Android 4.2 runs out of the box with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage along with micro SD card support of up to 32GB.

The Konnect 5.0 supports 3G, Wi-Fi (b/g/n), GPS with A-GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. The removable battery of 1950mAh Li-Po should easily give a decent moderate usage time of over a day.

Swipe Konnect 5.0 is priced at Rs. 8,999 – the box pack also includes a premium screen guard, business navigator and flip cover (worth Rs. 1,499). This dual SIM handset will be competing with the Lava Iris X1, Micromax Unite 2 and Micromax Canvas 2 Colours.
