Swipe has launched a dual core powered smartphone called Junior for ₹5,999. This handset sports a 4.5 inch screen and is running Android KitKat 4.4 out of the box. Swipe Junior is a single SIM handset with 3G support.
There is nothing special about this in fact it is packed with a much outdated hardware and software. However it does come packed with apps targeted at kids aged between 5 to 15 years and also comes with parental control feature and GPS tracker.
Parents can also get the location of their child using GPS, in a way it is good for monitoring. Swipe Junior is packed inside a tough body. It houses an unknown dual core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. Android KitKat 4.4 runs out of the box with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
There is a single SIM slot and 2MP camera on rear plus a VGA camera on the front. Key features are 3G, 2G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. The Junior sports a 4.5 inch screen with unknown resolution (probably WVGA or FWVGA).
The 1900 mAh battery gives up to 8 hours of talk time on 2G networks. The Swipe Junior carries a price tag of ₹5,999 and the parental control + geo tagging are paid service, however you will get a 12 months free subscription.
