It looks like Micromax, Karbonn and Spice will launch the Android One handset on 15th, but Spice has already got the Spice Mi-498 Android One Dream UNI listed and made it available online for Rs. 6,999.

The specs look good. It is a dual SIM handset powered by 1.3GHz quad core processor coupled with Mali 400 MP GPU. You need two micro SIM’s and this handset runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box.

It sports a 4.5 inch screen with FWVGA resolution (IPS display). There is 1GB RAM, 4GB storage and 32GB external card support. This handset also comes with 5MP rear AF camera with flash and a 2MP front facing camera. Rear camera can shoot FHD videos.

Handset is 9.15 mm thick and it has the Android One Logo on the rear. Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. There is built in FM radio too. The Spice Mi-498 Android One Dream UNI comes with 1700 mAh battery that as per the company gives talk time of up to 10 hours on 3G and 17 hours on 2G networks.

Most likely the Micromax Android one and the Karbonn Android one may be of similar specifications and price (they might keep it a little cheaper to compete). Spice Android One Dream UNI Mi-498 is priced at Rs. 6,999 and currently available online.
