Sony has announced the Xperia Z1F (SO-02F), this is different from the already existing Sony Xperia Z1, in fact a slightly trimmed down version of the Z1. The Sony Xperia Z1F also comes with the 20.7MP rear camera just like on its predecessor the Xperia Z1.

The Sony Xperia Z1F sails on Android 4.2.2 OS with a 4.3 inch screen with 1280×720 pixels TRILUMINOUS HD screen. It is also powered by quad core MSM8974 QUALCOMM chipset as found on the Z1.GPU is Adreno 330. The quad core is clocked at 2.2GHz. RAM is 2GB and internal storage is 16GB.

There is external card support of up to 64GB. The rear camera as mentioned is 20.7MP resolution using BIONZ image processor engine and LED flash (PULSED). There is 2.2MP front camera with video call support. Other features included are 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth.

Sony Xperia Z1F

The Sony Z1F body is made of aluminum and is waterproof. A 2300 mAh battery powers up this handset. This handset will initially be launched in Japan and then roll out internationally. No word about the launch in India.

There are very few differences between the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z1F. The Z1 is priced at Rs. 41,500 and you can expect the Z1F to be priced well under 40K range.
