The Sony Xperia Z1 compact that was showcased at the CES 2014 is now officially listed on the Sony India website for a price tag of Rs. 36,990. This handset is powered by quad core processor.

The Sony Xperia Z1 compact weighs just about 137 grams and is 9.5mm thick. It houses a 4.3 screen with TRILUMINOS display supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The Z1 compact runs on Android 4.3. It is powered by MSM8974 qualcomm quad core chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz coupled with Adreno 330 GPU.

There is a primary camera of 20.7MP resolution (AF) with LED flash support. FHD video recording is supported. The front camera of 2MP resolution can also record videos in 1080p resolution. This handset comes with a single Micro-SIM slot.

Sony Xperia Z1 compact in India

The Xperia Z1 compact is IP58 certified that makes is water resistant up to 1 meter and dust proof. Other features are 3G (it is still not clear if 4G will be supported), 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. RAM is 2GB and internal storage is 16GB with 64GB external card support.

The non-removable battery is of 2300 mAh capacity. On a full charge you can expect  a talk time of up to 18 hours on 3G and 10 hours on the 2G networks.
