Sony will soon launch two new handsets the Sony ST21i (single SIM) and the ST21i2 (Dual SIM). Both the handsets will carry and affordable price tag with similar features except that the ST21i2 will support dual SIM.

There is a huge market for low cost android phones. Many manufacturers have already launched or planning to launch new models with good features and keeping the price tag at the minimal. Now even big brands are entering this market. Another reason why consumers are suddenly seeing so many low cost android handsets is because of the new technologies that the high end handsets come loaded with. Its dual core and above, in other words the single core processor are outdated but still are a good bet when it comes to using it on a budget phone.

Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i2 and ST21i features

The ST21i2 is dual SIM and ST21i is a single SIM android phone. Rest of the features are the same. These handsets are powered by Single-Core Qualcomm MSM7227 Snapdragon Processor clocked at 800 MHz coupled with Adreno 200 GPU and with 512 MB RAM.

They run on the ICS Android 4.0 OS and comes with internal storage of 3 GB, 3 MP camera with Geo tagging,  video recording, (no LED flash), microSD support, multi format media player, Bluetooth, WiFi and Built in GPS. The handset is powered by a 1450 mAh battery (the mAh may be slightly different on the dual SIM version).

Sony Xperia Tipo

Display screen is full touch capacitive of size 3.2 inches with supported resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The disappointing part about these Sony Xperia phone is that this phone does not support 3G (need to confirm this). This handset is manufactured in China. That is all for now, we do not know the price yet but it could be anywhere around Rs. 15,000.
