The next in line is the rumoured Sony Xperia SL which has not yet been officially announced. This android 4.0.4 smartphone will come powered by MSM8260 dual core processor with 12MP camera.
The Sony Xperia SL looks similar to the Sony Xperia U, Sony Xperia S and the Sony Xperia NX. The handset is light weight at 144grams with 10.6mm thickness. The display screen of 4.3 inches shows off amazing clarity with 342ppi on a 1280×720 pixels resolution.
The touchscreen is with capacitive technology with 10 point multi-touch. Just like other Xperia series this one too comes with Sony Mobile Bravia Engine and scratch resistant glass. The Sony Xperia SL runs on Android 4.0 with TimeScape User interface.
The SL houses the Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon, dual core processor with 1.7GHz speed coupled with Adreno 220 GPU. There is no microSD card slot as there is really no need for it, cause of the massive 32GB internal storage. The RAM is 1GB.
3G is supported (HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.8 Mbps), 2G (GPRS max 86 Kbps, EDGE max 237 kbps). In addition there is the Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 2.1, micro USB, tethering supported, GPS with AGPS/GLONASS, SNS integrated, HDMI port and active noise cancellation.
The next highlight is the 12 megapixel camera that can click images at 4000×3000 pixels resolution. The camera is full autofocus with LED flash support. It comes with many features found on digital cameras like face/smile detection, image / video stabilization, 3D Sweek Panorama and continuous autofocus. There is a front secondary camera with 1.3MP. The rear camera can shoot videos in 1080p resolution at 30fps whereas the front camera can record at 720p at 30fps.
The pricing details or the launch date is not yet known. Looking at the specifications I believe it will be over Rs. 30K.
