Sony launched a new handset in the Aqua series at MWC 2015 – the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. As the name suggests it is a waterproof phone – IP65/8 certified. This handset is running Android 5 and it is powered by a 64 bit snapdragon 615 octa core processor.

The M4 Aqua houses the qualcomm snapdragon 615 64 bit octa core processor MSM8939 (1GHz quad core + 1.5GHz quad core) coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. It is running Android Lollipop out of the box over a 5 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) resolution.

Handset comes packed with 2GB RAM, 8GB /16GB of internal storage and micro SD support of up to 32GB. M4 is 7.3mm thick and smartphone weight with battery is 136 grams. The primary camera (using Sony Exmor RS sensor) is of 13MP resolution with LED flash support and the secondary camera is of 5MP resolution. Rear camera is auto focus and front camera is fixed focus. The front camera can shoot 720p videos whereas the rear camera can shoot full HD (1080p) videos.

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is waterproof – it is well protected against fine dust particles and can survive immersed in 1.5 meter fresh water for half an hour. Key features are 4G LTE (in selected markets), 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Sony 3D Surround Sound technology (xLoud), GPS and Bluetooth.

M4 Aqua gets power from a 2400 mAh battery that gives talk time of up to 13 hours. There is ultra Stamina mode that will get more battery juice when the battery % is too low and you are away from your charger.

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is priced at EUR 299 that comes to approx Rs. 20K.
