Sony has launched dual USB pendrives that works on traditional PC’s using the USB connector and also on tablets and smartphones via the micro USB connector. The dual USB pendrive will be available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB options starting from approx Rs. 1,200.

The Sony Hybrid pendrives will hit the stores in Jan 2014 for approx Rs. 1,200 for 8GB, approx Rs. 1,800 for 16GB and approx Rs. 3,800 for 32GB. If you may recall iBall had launched the dual USB pendrive, what they called “the Hybrid pendrive” that too came with micro USB as well as USB port. The iBall Hybrid pendrive are in fact cheaper starting from Rs. 599 for the 8GB version.

The Sony dual USB houses a micro USB and a USB 2.0 connector, there is no need for attaching additional cords/cable. You can use the normal USB to connect to PC or use the micro USB to connect with smartphones and tablets.

Once connected the drive will be auto detected there is no need to install any software. The USB port is open where are the micro USB port comes with a cap (with lock function). There is LED indicator too.
