Sony has announced lens style cameras –  the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-QX100 priced at $499 and Sony Cyber-shot DSC-QX10 for $249. Connect this gadget with your smartphone and convert your phone into a professional camera that can capture stunning high quality images as well as HD videos with optical zoom.

You can attach this device with compatible devices using an adjustable mechanical adapter. Once done you need to connect it with the handset VIA Wi-Fi or NFC. You really don’t need to connect this over the lens in fact once connected the handset built in camera / lens becomes obsolete. The Lens Style camera device interacts with the handset via Wi-Fi or NFC and the handset screen becomes the viewfinder. It is really not necessary to attach the Lens Style camera with the phone; you can place it anywhere you want as long as it’s within the Wi-Fi range.

QX10 supports 18.2 MP resolution and makes use of the EXMOR RCMOS Sensor with 10x optical zoom. It also supports image stabilization and blur free output. QX10 is available in Black and White colours for a price tag of $249.
