Qualcomm unveiled 3 new chipsets, the Snapdragon 425, Snapdragon 435 and Snapdragon 625. The 625 Soc is using 14nm process technology whereas the 425 and the 435 SoC’s are using 28nm processor technology.

Snapdragon 425 MSM8917

This SoC is 64 bit 1.4GHz quad core powered coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. It supports 667 MHz LPDDR3 RAM and eMMC 5.1 ROM (internal storage). MSM8917 supports up to 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

The Snapdragon 425 SoC also supports up to 16MP camera with FHD videos recording. 4G is supported (X6 LTE) / Global Mode, BT 4.1, NFC and USB 2.0. MSM8917 will comes with Qualcomm QC 2.0 support (Quick Charge).

Snapdragon 435 MSM8940

This is 1.4GHz 64 bit octa core powered, a 28nm chipset coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. This SoC supports 800MHz LPDDR3 RAM and eMMC 5.1 and SD 3.0. MSM8940 supports display with 1080p resolution, up to 21MP camera , quick charge 3.0, NFC, BT 4.1, WiFi and 4G LTE (X8) with Global mode.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, 435 and 425 announced

Snapdragon 625 MSM8953

The MSM8953 SoC is 64 bit octa core clocked at 2GHz, it’s using 14nm process technology coupled with Adreno 506GPU. It supports 933MHz LPDDR3 RAM and eMMC 5.1. Snapdragon 625 also supports 1080p resolution, 24MP camera resolution, 4K recording capabilities, BT 4.1, NFC, WiFi, USB 3.0, 4G LTE (X9) with global mode and quick charge 3.0 support.

These chipsets will be test sometime in mid 2016 and we could see smartphones powered by these chipsets sometime after June 2016.
