At the MWC event, Sharp revealed the Aquos SH-06D an android powered phone that is dustproof and waterproof. Samsung had also announced the Rugby Smartphone, another tough phone.
The Sharp Aquos SH-06D looks cool and got a slim look (11. 68 mm) with 3 dedicated buttons on the front side. This handset comes with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and runs on the Android 2.3 OS. The OS is a bit outdated. The full touchscreen 3D HD New Mobile ASV LCD display is 4.5 inches supporting 1280 by 720 pixel resolution.
The SH-06D weighs 144.86 grams and comes in Black, White, Pink, Red and Blue colours. This sharp smartphone can be used for video calling and chatting as it does come with a front facing VGA camera. The rear facing 8 MP camera can be used for normal photography.
Other features are 3D support, 3G, EDGE, GPRS, MicroSD card support, Water / Dust Proof and Social networking ready. The standby time on the SH-06D is around 420 hours and you can expect a talktime of about 300 to 450 hours.
