The Samsung W999 a.k.a. SCH-W999 comes with many dual benefits, not surprised well here goes the list, dual SIM, dual core processor, dual cameras and dual touchscreen display. What dual screen? this might sound crazy but this cell phone can be flip opened to unveil another touchscreen display along with alphanumeric keypad.
The W999 can house a CDMA (Hot Swappable) and a GSM card simultaneously (dual SIM support). This handset is especially made for the Chinese users and I am not sure if and when it will reach India. Some of the main highlights are 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 5 MP camera and CDMA / GSM network support.

Design: The handset has got a simple look with touchscreen display taking up most of the area along with three dedicated buttons. The rear side has got a logo, speaker output and camera with flash. Flip open the phone to reveal the alphanumeric keypad and another touchscreen display but without any dedicated buttons. You cannot expect this handset to be light weight and slim. The weight is 206 grams and thickness is 17.8 mm.
Display Screen: The 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with Super AMOLED supports 800 by 480 pixel resolution with 16 M colours. Well make it two. There is a secondary display of same specification that gets unveiled when the flap is opened.
Processor and OS: A dual core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon processor powers this handset along with Adreno 220 GPU. The gingerbread (android 2.3) OS comes loaded with Samsung TouchWiz user interface.
Memory and Entertainment: The W999 comes with 16 GB internal storage and also does support microSD card up to 32 GB. As for entertainment you can use the android default player that supports many formats. There is built in loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack in case you want to connect external headsets.
Camera: This Samsung smartphone comes with a 5 megapixel primary camera with LED flash light. The camera can record HD videos with 720p at 30 fps. Some camera features are face detection, geo tagging, smile detection and auto focus. There is a secondary camera too with a 1.3 MP resolution.
Other features: This phone comes with compass, proximity and accelerometer sensors. For data connectivity you can use the GPRS / EDGE networks or built in Wi-Fi. There is a microUSB 2.0 port, built in GPS and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP supported.
Battery: The 1500 mAh standard Li-Ion battery powers this handset. (Standby and Talktime is unknown).
Samsung W999 price in India (if launched) is expected to be over Rs. 30,000.
