Samsung Mobiles will soon launch a new tablet the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active that will be powered by quad core processor and will run KitKat out of the box. But the key highlight is – the tab is IP67 certified that makes is dust and water resistant.
With the anti shock protective cover the tablet will survive drop from a height of up to 1.2 meters. Weight with battery is 392 grams, thickness is 9.7mm. There is no SIM card slot, but there is a micro SD card slot to add up to 64GB external cards.
Android 4.4.2 with TouchWiz UI runs the show with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Tab Active sports an 8 inch LCD screen with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. It also comes with a C Pen stylus.
Tab Active houses qualcomm snapdragon 400 quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 305 GPU. There is a 3.1MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 1.2MP on the front. Key features are Wi-Fi, GPS with GLONASS, stereo speakers, NFC and Bluetooth. Active gets power from a 4450 mAh removable battery.
This is a rugged tablet that keeps dust and water out, especially made for in-field use. But it comes for a price – approx Rs. 52,000.
