Samsung has unveiled the new Galaxy Tab 2 a 7.0 inch low cost tablet running android 4.0 for $350 (approx Rs. 17,500). For such a price the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 will definitely do well especially in India.
Global launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 will happen in March 2012. Probably by April 2012 the Tab 2 should be available in the Indian market. There is a huge market for low cost tablets worldwide and in India. The Indian version Aakash tablet comes with a lowest price but when it comes to performance its no good and that is the reason why many Indian consumers are looking for alternatives and do not mind paying extra for a well known brand.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 may be affordably priced in India at under Rs. 21,000 which will give it an edge over the low cost tablets in the range Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. Let’s have a look at the tab 2 specifications.
The Tab 2 will be available in two versions Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G. The Wi-Fi only version will be the cheapest. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is powered by a dual core 1 GHz processor with a touchscreen display of 7.0 inches supporting 600 by 1024 pixel resolution.
This tablet is just 10.16 mm thick and weighs 340 grams. This table comes with a 4000 mAh battery that can last for about 39 hours in standby mode.
