The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge that was launched in India a few days back, is now officially available at online and retails sores starting from Rs. 49,900. The Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge are using the same hardware but with some minor changes in their specifications.
The S6 will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options. The 128GB is the costliest of the lot and might be difficult getting one – in case someone is interested. There is Rs. 9,000 price difference between the S6 32GB and the S6 edge 32GB version. The S6 Edge definitely is the most unique looking handset.
The S6 and the S6 Edge sports a 5.1 inch screen with quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels). Handset is light weight at 138 grams and pretty slim with a 6.8mm thickness. These are single SIM handsets running Lollipop with 3GB RAM and 32/64/128 GB of internal storage space. There is no micro SD card support.
Rear camera is 16MP and front camera is 5MP. The camera is with f/1.9 aperture that will give excellent output in low light conditions. You can shoot 4K videos. Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, NFC, heart rate sensor, finger print scanner, GPS and Bluetooth.
Both these handsets are using the Exynos 14 nm 64 bit octa core processor (combination of 2.1GHz quad core + 1.5GHz quad core). The S6 houses a 2550 mAh battery and the S6 Edge comes packed with a 2600 mAh non-removable battery.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge is now available online starting from Rs. 49,900.
