Samsung today officially launched the Galaxy S5 in India. It is now available in retail stores and online for a price tag of Rs. 51,500. This dust and water resistant handset with finger print scanner is powered by octa core processor.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 model S5 SM-G900H is here for approx Rs. 51K. This is a premium handset that comes loaded with unique features like the heart rate sensor and finger scanner. The S5 houses Adonis Prime2 octa core processor (1.9GHz quad core + 1.3GHz quad core) + XMM6360 coupled with Adreno 330 GPU.
The S5 sports a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution (16M colors). It supports multi touch and the handset is water resistant up to 1 meter (for 30 minutes max).
Handset sails on KitKat OS with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Micro SD card of up to 128GB is supported. There is 16MP primary AF camera with LED flash and 2MP front camera. Rear camera can record videos in max 2160p resolution at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps. The front camera can also record videos in 1080p @ 30fps.
Key features are 3G (42Mbps), 2G, Wi-Fi (dual band) with DLNA, hotspot and direct support, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB 3.0 support and GPS with A-GPS / GLONASS. This single (nano) SIM handset comes with 2800 mAh Li-ion battery with wireless charging support – estimated talk time is up to 21 hours.
Samsung Galaxy S5 is available in Gold, Blue, White and Black colors for Rs. 51,500. The price is too high and out of reach of many Indian consumers, but those who can afford may not be comfortable investing in – especially when 4G is missing.
