Samsung has yet again listed a new handset (Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim) this time on the official Brazilian website. Galaxy S3 Slim is a quad core powered handset with a thickness of 9.7mm. This handset runs on Jelly Bean Android 4.2.
The older version – the Samsung Galaxy S3 is currently selling at Rs. 23K, it is powered by 1.4GHz quad core chipset and is 8.6mm thick. And then came the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini powered by dual core processor and with a 9.9mm thickness. The S3 Slim I guess has nothing to do with the dimensions (thickness in particular) – but it’s the specifications.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim houses a quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It runs on Android 4.2 with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage with micro SD card support. The TFT screen is 4.5 inches supporting qHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels). There is 5MP rear AF camera with LED flash and VGA front camera.
Key features are 3G (21Mbps), 2G, Wi-Fi (b/g/n) with Direct, Bluetooth and GPS with GLONASS / A-GPS. The S3 Slim weighs 139 grams that includes the battery of 2100 mAh capacity. Samsung claims that users can play videos of up to 8 hours on a single charge.
No word about the availability of Galaxy S3 Slim in India or the price. The price tag could be under Rs. 20,000.
