If you have been in an airplane recently, you might have heard an advisory regarding usage of Samsung Galaxy Note7 and in fact any Galaxy Note devices on the airplane. The same advisory issued by DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation) has been lifted on Samsung Galaxy Note7.
As per the latest advisory, travelers using Samsung Galaxy Note7 purchased after 15th September can use the device during the flight, but if the product was purchased before the date mentioned they will have to switch off their device and it should not be used / charged during the flight.
The simplest way to check if you can use the Samsung Galaxy Note7 on the flight or charge the same is to look for the green battery icon. The devices showing the green battery icon are safe to use during flight.
The good news is that the Galaxy Note7 sales in India were delayed when this major battery issue came into picture. Samsung halted the sales and will soon re-launch the Note7 in India and those units will come with visual green battery icon.
Samsung India Spokesperson said that they are committed towards customer safety and recognized the inconvenience this has caused to customers, airline authorities and flyers.
