What’s with Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Region Locked? ignore it!

There were reports about Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and other high end Samsung smartphones that were region-locked i.e. the handset will work with any of the SIM  from Mobile operator operating within the region from where the handset was bought. If the handset was purchased from Europe it will work only with SIM-cards from operators working within Europe.

Samsung has added this feature to prevent cheaper imports. This means that if you buy the device from another country it will not work in your country. Say if you buy the device from US and you want to use it in India it will not work, however if you use the device in US, i.e use a US SIM card on the device it will work and also deactivate the region lock, thereafter you can use it in any county with any SIM.

Indian users need not worry about this unless you are not buying the handset from the Indian market. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Region lock is just a simple one time prevention system to prevent cheap imports and does not force the user to use the device in particular region, well that would be stupid and senseless.

The Galaxy Note 3 is priced at Rs. 49,900. It is powered by 1.9GHz octa core processor and runs on Android 4.3 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. If I can get hold of the Galaxy Note 3 I will get the review done.
