Samsung has announced their new ICS powered handset called the Samsung Galaxy Music and Samsung Galaxy Music Duos. These handsets probably will carry a competition price tag and could help Samsung recover from competitors like Micromax, Karbonn and Spice.
The Samsung Galaxy Music comes in two versions the single SIM and the Dual SIM – the Duos. More emphasis has been given on the music part and hence the use of the Music word in the model name. It’s Sound Alive surround sound hardware with SRS and stereo speakers.
The sound quality will definitely be much better than as heard on other handsets in the same category. I just hope the sound technology does not have a big effect on the price tag. The handset will run on android 4.0 with 512MB RAM and internal storage of 4GB, including microSD slot.
The display screen of 3 inches is with a lower screen resolution of 320×240 pixels. There is a 3MP camera on the rear without the Flash option and no front camera. Other features are 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct, GPS with Glonass, Built in FM (how can they miss this on a Music phone), front loudspeaker with SRS sound effects, Bluetooth 3 and USB 2.0.
The handset weighs 106 grams with 12.25mm thickness. It runs on 1300 mAh battery that should give a usage time for over a day. The price and the release dates are not known. I believe the Samsung Galaxy Music will be priced between 6K to 8K, few hundred more for the dual SIM (Samsung Galaxy Music Duos) version.
