Samsung recently revealed the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 smartphones, their next BIG move. The Mega word along with the numeric indicates the phone size (5.8 / 6.3 inch phones).

The Samsung Galaxy Note came with a 5.3 inch screen and then the Galaxy Note 2 was launched with a bigger screen of 5.5 inches. And now the 5.8 and 6.3 inch smartphones will hit the stores, probably next month. Both these BIG handsets run on the Jelly bean 4.2 OS.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 (Model : I9200)
This smartphone sports a 6.3 inch TFT screen with HD (1280×720 pixel ~233ppi) resolution. It is powered by a dual core 1.7GHz processor (Exynos 5250 chipset + Mali-T604 GPU). The handset weighs 199 grams and is 8.0 mm thick. As for the RAM its 1.5GB with 8 or 16GB storage option (extra Rs. for the 16GB version). Micro SD slot supports card of up to 64GB.

There will be an 8MP AF camera and a 1.9MP front camera. Other key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB, GPS with GLONASS, MHL, NFC and 3.5mm jack.

It is a big phone and it does come with a bigger battery capacity (3200 mAh).

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 (Model : I9150)
The Mega 5.8 sports a 5.8 inch TFT screen with a qHD (960×540 pixel ~190ppi) resolution. This handset is powered by a dual core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. This mega handset will come in single SIM and dual SIM options.

The camera is again the same of 8MP AF on the rear with LED flash and a 1.9MP font facing. The RAM is 1.5GB with 8GB internal storage and micro SD support. The handset is 9 mm thick and weight is about 182 grams.

Other features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi (a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB, GPS with GLONASS and 3,5mm audio jack. This handset comes with accelerometer, gyro, light, magnetic and proximity sensors. The battery is 2600 mAh capacity.

These Samsung Galaxy Mega handsets hit the Indian markets soon; we do not know the price yet.
