Samsung is all set to launch a new handset the Galaxy Alpha. This handset comes with a slight design change, its light weight, slim and running the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS out of the box. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha comes in two variants – with LTE and without LTE support. Most likely the Indian version will be 3G supported.

The Galaxy Alpha sports a 4.7 inch screen – it is Super AMOLED display supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Handset weight is just 115 grams with battery and very slim – 6.7mm thick. The Indian version could be Exynos octa core powered (1.8GHz quad + 1.3GHz quad).

Alpha comes with 2GB on-board RAM and 32GB internal ROM. There is no micro SD card slot. There is a front camera of 2.1 MP resolution and a rear camera of 12MP resolution. Rear camera is auto focus and can shoot 2160p videos at 30fps.

Other features are 4G / 3G (depending on the hardware), 2G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS with GLONASS, Heart rate sensor and finger print scanner. Alpha is loaded with 1800 mAh battery. The price has not yet been disclosed it will be unveiled on the 27th.
