Much ahead of the official launch the most talked about ultra budget friendly smartphone Ringing Bells Freedom 251 specifications and the price has already been listed via freedom251.com website. Surprisingly the Freedom 251 price mentioned on their website is just ₹251 (Model number = price).

Freedom 251 features and specifications

As far as the specifications are concerned it is not that bad, but too good for the price, well awesome. The Freedom 251 sports a 4 inch screen (IPS) supporting 960 x 540 pixels (qHD) resolution, the newspaper ad however says screen is with WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels). This handset is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor loaded with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. There is micro SD card support of up to 32GB.

This smartphone is running Android Lollipop 5.1. When it comes to the camera there is a decent 3.2MP AF camera packed on the rear and a VGA camera on the front. Key features are 3G, 2G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. And the 251 houses a 1450 mAh battery.

Not sure how the Ringing Bells company is managing to sell it at this price point, probably buying outdated hardware in bulk. And I guess they will charge for shipping.

Freedom 251 booking

Booking will begin from 18th February from 6AM onwards. For the price of ₹251, this seems unbelievable, not yet sure if there are extra taxes. Another thing to notice is the site says ‘Booking’ which means that user will have to make payments well in advance. I guess many will not have a issue with that considering the price, but I think there will be a big waiting time – confirmed : delivery will be on or after 30th June 2016.

Anyway lets see. The handset price is almost similar to the price of a good quality screen guard.
