Here is the Redmi Y2 review this handset has just been launched in India for Rs. 9,999.  Redmi Y2 is Snapdragon 625 octa core powered and comes in 3GB/32GB or 4GB/64GB RAM/ROM options. Key attraction is the 16MP AI camera on the front and 12MP + 5MP dual cameras on the rear.

The Redmi Y2 is the same handset i.e. the Redmi S2 that was launched in China. This handset comes with triple slot and supports 4G with VoLTE. This hardware Snapdragon 625 however does not support dual VoLTE.

Inside the box you will get the handset, user manual, silicon case, data cable USB to micro USB and travel charger 5V/2A. This smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 625 octa core processor that is fast and hardly heats up. Antutu score was 76609 and max battery temperature was 36 degrees.

Overall performance is smooth, the SD 625 processor is well know. This handset also comes with face unlock and finger print sensor. Finger print sensor is very fast, almost instant and face unlock takes time. When you register for face unlock it will ask you to move head left and then right (something new here).

Coming to the camera on the rear there is 12MP+5MP AI (artificial Intelligence) dual camera and on the front there is 16MP AI camera. Camera quality is excellent, it can shoot FHD videos and there is stabilization too, pretty good. Low light shots are decent enough. Edge detection is very good.

The front single camera can also shoot in bokeh / portrait mode. MIUI 9 runs out of the box based on Android Oreo. The 3080 mAh battery takes about 2 hours for a full charge and will last for one to one and a half day of battery life based on your usage.

Build and finishing is excellent, curvy design, feels good, antenna outline, brushed metallic finishing. The Redmi Y2 will be available in Gold, Dark Grey and Rose Gold color options.
