LG is a well known brand and have already launched many mobile handsets in India. The company is now planning to shift its focus more on Smartphones and will launch more smartphones in the year 2011. LG recently launched the Optimus 2X in India. LG Optimus 2X is also the world’s first dual core phone.

The LG Optimus 2X is powered by Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, ULP GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 chipset and is running the Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS which can be upgraded to Android 2.3. This is a 3G phone with GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and microUSB 2.0 support.

Another exciting feature is the 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. There is another front camera with resolution 1.3 megapixels useful for video calls. The camera comes loaded with different features such as face detection, smile detection, geo-tagging, image stabilization and touch focus.  Videos can be recorded in 720p at 30fps or 1080p at 24fps.

The screen is 4.0 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen supporting 16M colours at 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The display is made of Gorilla Glass which provides exceptional damage resistance and helps protect the screen. Other features are Accelerometer, Gyro sensor, Touch sensitive controls and proximity sensors.

The LG Optimus 2X also houses an FM radio with RDS, 3.5 mm audio jack, GPS (A-GPS support) and HDMI port. The handset comes loaded with social networking software, Google maps, Gmail, Adobe Flash 10.1 and more.
