Philips has launched the Xenium X2566 feature phone. This phone is priced at Rs. 5,537 but will be available for under Rs. 4,000. Philips Xenium X2566 is specially made for Senior Citizens.

Users buy handsets based on the features they are looking for. When it comes to senior citizens there are very few options available. Their needs are totally different and they really don’t need a smartphone. Philips X2566 could probably go well with senior citizens.

The X2566 can turn out to be a life saver, it comes with a dedicated SOS button that when pressed will notify the pre-assigned contacts in case of emergency, it will call 3 pre-defined number and will keep calling unless someone picks up.

It is a basic handset that sports a TFT screen of 2.4 inches with 320 x 240 pixels resolution. The handset is easy to use, light weight at 108 grams and gives a very good battery backup. The handset also comes with a rear camera of VGA resolution. Micro SD card slot supports max 16GB cards.

It is a dual SIM handset that comes with bigger alphanumeric keypad, louder sound output and flash. Key features are 2G, Digital text magnifier, high volume speaker and Bluetooth. There is 1630 mAh battery with about 24 hours of talk time.
