Panasonic has launched tough series devices in India. The windows 8.1 powered Toughpad FZ-E1 for Rs. 1,19,000 and the Android powered Toughpad FX-X1 for Rs. 1,09,000. They also launched the Toughbook CF-54 laptop for Rs. 1,39,000.
Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1
This tablet is the most rugged handheld devices. It’s a 5 inch tablet running Windows Embedded 8.1 handheld. It is powered by Qualcomm snapdragon 2.3gHz MSM8974AB quad core processor. There is 2GB RAM, 32GB storage and micro SD card support. Screen is 5 inches supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.
Also included is an 8MP AF camera with LED flash on the rear and a 1.3MP camera on the front. Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, CDMA 1x, EVDO Rev A, dual SIM slots, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi and GPS. This device comes with a 6200 mAh battery.
Panasonic Toughpad FX-X1
This tablet is powered by qualcomm snapdragon APQ8064T 1.7GHz quad core processor and it’s running Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Rest of the specification are same as FZ-E1.
These handheld devices are glove mode enabled and come with 3 years warranty.
Panasonic Toughbook 54
This is a a semi rugged laptop – thinness and lightest in the world. It sports a 14 inch FHD screen running Windows 8.1 64 bit. It is powered by 5th Gen Intel Core processor (i5-5300U) clocked at 2.3GHz (up to 2.9 with turbo boost technology). This laptop comes with optional 4GB/8GB/16GB RAM. There is 500GB HDD.
Key features are 3 x USB, DVD drive, HDMI port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional 4G LTE and GPS. Optional secondary battery can be used as backup and can be swapped without shutting down the system. Battery backup is up to 8 hours and with optional hot swappable battery another +7 hours.
