As expected Panasonic has launched the octa core powered P81 handset today for a price tag of Rs. 17,999. The handset will be available soon in retail stores and is already listed on some online stores.

The Panasonic P81 specifications are as follows. It houses the MediaTek MT6592 true octa core chipset @ 1.7GHz with Mali 450 GPU. The hardware performance is pretty good, we have seen that on many other handsets. It is a dual SIM handset and is about 7.9mm thick.

The P81 comes with a big screen of 5.5 inches with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The handset runs on Android 4.2 with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. There is micro SD card support too (32GB). Also included is a 13MP rear camera (f/2.2 aperture) with LED flash support. There is a front camera too of 2MP resolution.

Key features are 3G, Wi-Fi with hotspot, Micro USB, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. This handset comes with 2500 mAh battery. The box pack includes a screen guard, flip cover, entertainment downloads from Hungama and many others. As per the company the freebies included are worth Rs. 11,000. The P81 will be competing with the Micromax Knight and the Gionee Elife E7 Mini.
