After Xiaomi it is now on OnePlus One. As per the reports the Delhi high court has issued an order – OnePlus One cannot sell their OPO handsets in the Indian markets with Cyanogen logo. Well yes Micromax has the exclusive right to Cyanogen in India and they are the one who went to the court to protect their exclusive partnership with Cyanogen.
As per Micromax they have partnered with Cyanogen and as per their agreement they have exclusive right to Cyanogen in India. Now with OnePlus One selling handsets running Cyanogen and using their logo on the back of the handset, it is as per Micromax, a clear violation.
Cyanogen has already mentioned that Indian version of OnePlus one will not get software updates. However if users are using the global version they will continue getting updates. In simple words all OnePlus One handsets bought from Amazon.in will not get updates. OnePlus is also planning to quickly get their customized OS to fill in the gap, however it might seem too late as the court has ordered that the OnePlus company cannot sell their handset with Cyanogen.
OnePlus one already replied back – they will not be manufacturing OnePlus one with cyanogen mod in India, most likely they already have a alternative OS ready, but we will have to wait and see.
Micromax will be launching the YU phones tomorrow (18th December), it will be running Cyanogen mod. Some of the specs are available via Zauba.com. The Micromax YU will support 4G. It comes with a 5.5 inch screen with micro SD card support. The screen resolution probably could be 720p or 1080p. Micromax YU could be priced at under Rs. 15,000. I think between Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 13,000.
