Obi Mobiles has announced two new smartphones (designed in San Francisco) the Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 and the Obi Worldphone SF1. The SF1 is 64 bit snapdragon octa core powered running Lollipop with 4G LTE support and the SJ1.5 is MediaTek quad core powered also running Lollipop but with 3G support.

The Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 is a dual SIM handset running Android 5.1 with 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and 32GB external card support. This handset sports a 5 inch 2.5D screen with corning gorilla glass 3 protection and supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

Worldphone SJ1.5 is powered by MediaTek 1.3GHz 32 bit MT6580 quad core processor with Mali 400 GPU. This smartphone also comes with an 8MP primary camera using OmniVision OV8865 sensor with LED flash support and a 5MP camera on the front.

Key features are 3G, 2G, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. A 3000 mAh non-removable battery powers up this handset. The SJ1.5 is priced at $129.

The Obi Worldphone SF1 is using the 64 bit qualcomm snapdragon 615 octa core processor with Adreno 405 GPU. This dual SIM handset sports a 5 inch JDI in-cell IPS screen (1920 x 1080p resolution) with floating glass protected with corning gorilla glass 4. It runs Android 5.0.2 with optional 2GB RAM/16GB storage or 3GB RAM/32GB storage along with 64GB external card support.

Obi Worldphone SF1 octa core

This handset also comes with a 5MP camera on the front with front LED flash and a 13MP camera on the rear using SONY IMX214 sensors with LED flash. Key features are 4G, 3G, GPS with A-GPS/GLONASS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. This handset houses a 3000 mAh non-removable battery.

The Obi Worldphone SF1 with 2GB/16GB option is priced at $199 and the 3GB/32GB option will be available for $249. No word about its launch / availability in India.
