Obi Mobiles has launched an octa core powered handset the Obi Octapus S520 in India for Rs. 11,990. Obi is a new brand in India and just in case you are unaware it is backed by John Sculley who is an Ex Apple CEO. The handset has already been listed online for Rs. 11,990.

The Octapus handset is dual SIM and just about 8.4mm thick. It sports a 5 inch IPS screen with HD resolution and houses the 1.7GHz octa core processor from MediaTek. You are already aware of this chipset’s performance that is coupled with Mali 450 GPU.

Also included are dual cameras. A 2MP secondary camera and 8MP primary camera with video recording and HDR support. Common features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.

The handset runs on KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box with 1GB RAM, 32GB storage and 8GB internal storage. There is 5GB of user space (of the 8GB). There is built in FM too. The 1800 mAh battery that the phone houses gives a talk time of up to 4 hours.
