The most awaited and the first Nokia phone of its kind to run on the Android platform, the Nokia X will be launched in India on 10th March 2014. Good news for those wanting an Android phone from their favorite and trusted brand ‘Nokia’.

The Nokia X, X+ and the XL were announced at MWC 2014, and now the X will be officially launched in New Delhi and Mumbai. The handset will be launched on 10th March and we could soon find it in stores in a week or two.

Along with the X, Nokia might also reveal the plans / dates for the X+ and XL launch. The X was recently listed on the Mobile store with a price tag of Rs. 8,500 – the price tag was later removed. You can expect the X to be priced under Rs. 9,000.

Nokia X is a dual SIM handset with a 4 inch 2 point multi touch screen supporting 800×480 pixels resolution. There is 512MB RAM and 4Gigs of ROM, plus card slot that supports 32GB micro SD card. Handset runs on Android 4.1.2 and comes powered by dual core MSM8225 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 play processor (Cortex A5) clocked at 1GHz coupled with Adreno 203 GPU.

There is a single camera placed on the rear with a 3.1MP resolution. Additional features are 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. The 1500 mAh battery that the handset houses gives a decent time of up to 10 hours on 3G and up to 13 hours on 2G networks.

Nokia is well known for its build quality and battery life. Hope they maintain the tradition and ‘welcome back’ with Android.
