The awaited Nokia Asha 500 is listed on Infibeam with a coming soon tag for Rs. 9,524. Not sure if the price is real but it seems too much specially when Nokia Asha 501 is available for around Rs. 5,000.

The price really does not make any sense as the Asha 500 is downgraded Nokia Asha 501, and price should be less that for what 501 is selling for. The 501 is with 3 inch screen whereas the 500 is with 2.8 inch. Screen resolution is the same 320×240 pixels. Both the handsets do not support 3G.

When it comes to the primary camera the 500 is with 2MP resolution and 501 with 3.15MP resolution. And front camera is missing on both these handsets. Asha 500 sails on Nokia Asha Software Platform 1.1.1 where as 501 is on Platform 1.0.

Nokia Asha 500 weighs 101 grams and is 12.8mm thick. TFT screen is 2.8 inches with 320×240 pixels resolution. RAM is 64MB, 4GB card comes free and the card slot supports card of max 32GB. Key features are 2G (EDGE), Bluetooth 3.0, micro USB and Wi-Fi (b/g/n).

Nokia Asha 500 on infibeam

The rear camera of 2MP can record videos in QVGA resolution. Handset is available in 6 exciting colors and houses a 1200 mAh (BL-4U) battery that gives talk-time of up to 14 hours. Nokia Asha 500 is downgraded 501 and I believe the price on Infibeam seems incorrect.
