The Firefox OS for Mobiles that was developed about 2 years back will cease to exist, soon. Mozilla is putting an end to the Firefox OS smartphone program, they will stop the development. The reason being is that this new Mobile OS failed to make its mark in the Mobile market.
Some handsets running Firefox OS were launched in India, but again that did not do well. Android has made a deep impact and users are so much addicted to it that it is really difficult to created the Android Competitor.
Mozilla will stop the Smartphone OS this means there will be no more Firefox OS powered smartphones, however the company will continue developing the Firefox OS for other platforms.
According to Ari Jaaksi, Mozilla’s SVP – Connected Devices – the Firefox OS for smartphones failed to impress the user / offer them best possible user experience, there are not many users using this OS and it makes sense stopping the program.
