Motorola launched the E3 Power in India for Rs. 7,999. This handset is using the MediaTek MT6735P quad core processor that is already being used on many handsets. Is the handset worth the price, read this review to get an idea.
I have not got any Moto E3 Power review unit and neither am I planning to buy this handset for the review – it is not at all difficult to predict how it will perform, taking clue from other handsets with the same hardware.
Design
As far as the design is concerned, the Moto E3 Power is different, in fact looks much like the Moto G4 Plus, i.e. with flat back, this design is good gives a good grip and especially helpful when typing text. There is the Moto logo on the back and above that the camera and the LED flash module are slightly out.
Power and volume button are on the right side. The speaker is on the front. This is a dual SIM handset with 4G LTE support and VoLTE is also supported. The handset comes with water repellent nano-coating, it is not water proof.
Display
Moto E3 Power comes with a 5 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The touch, viewing angles and the color reproduction should be good as seen on many Moto handsets. There is no dedicated button so you will have to use on screen navigation buttons.
Memory, storage and OS
There is 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. The micro SD card slot can be used to add external storage of up to 32GB. Moto E3 Power is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Motorola is well known for providing OS upgrades however if you are expecting Nouget update on this one forget it it’s not going to happen.
Moto E3 Power Performance
For estimating performance I will be taking clue from the Coolpad Mega 2.5D handset that I recently reviewed. Mega 2.5D is using same hardware. Moto E3 Power is powered by MediaTek MT6735P 64 bit quad core CPU @ 1GHz with Mali T720 GPU. Do note the Mega 2.5D handset comes with 5.5 inch HD screen.
Benchmark performance estimate

- Antutu – between 22,000 to 26,000 | 3D score – between 1800 to 2200
- Nenamark 2 – between 55 to 59fps

Gaming
Almost all of the handsets with MediaTek MT6735P chipset were non-performing when it comes to gaming. You should be able to play high end games in medium to low visual quality mode.
Camera
Hard to talk about the Moto E3 Power camera unless I actually use them. But from my experience of reviewing previous Moto G / E handsets the camera quality on this one will be just about average. There is 8MP primary camera with flash and secondary camera is 5MP. Rear camera can shoot 720p videos. The hardware in fact can play FHD videos.
Moto E3 Power Battery
Now the Moto E3 Power houses a 3500 mAh battery and the handset comes with 10W rapid charger. A 15 minutes charge will give you up to 5 hours battery life. Without actually using the handset I can bet – considering the quad core performance the battery life will be very good.
On a full charge you can get up to 1.5 days easy with moderate mixed usage.
Verdict
The MediaTek MT6735P isn’t that powerful when it comes to gaming but for other usage it is good enough. In general the handset should perform really well. This is a good option for non-gaming heavy users.
Key attraction on the Moto E3 Power is the battery. If you want real power you can go for the Redmi 3S / 3S prime or Redmi Note 3 with price under Rs. 10K.
