Micromax X259 is a bar type phone that comes with a unique feature, a built in solar charger. You can charge the phone using natural resource – the Sun. This handset is made for users who are always on the move.

Though the solar concept is exciting, I doubt if this phone with low end features will be of any use to “on-the-move professionals”, they should either consider the Micromax A56 or look for other models. However it may work well in rural areas especially where there are frequent power cuts. The Micromax handset comes with alphanumeric keypad with 2.4 inch display screen. On the rear side most of the area on the back cover is taken up by the solar panel, which looks like a touchscreen.

The Micromax X259 is a basic phone with very low end features. There is no Wi-Fi but you can surf the net using GPRS with the WAP browser. There is FM radio, video / music player for entertainment and a VGA camera which has become a minimum standard even if the camera quality is pathetic. MicroSD card up to 4 GB is supported.
