Micromax has launched another tab called Funbook Infinity for Rs. 6,699. The tab runs on 1.2 GHz processor with a 7 inch screen, dual front speakers and dual cameras.

At first when I heard of P275 I thought it to be the model number for Micromax Funbook Alpha that was also recently launched. However the P275 turned out to be the new Funbook Infinity which seems like an upgraded version of Alpha and priced just Rs. 700 more than the Alpha. The Micromax Funbook Infinity is much better than the Alpha model and the price difference is not much.

Funbook Infinity Hardware
This tablet is powered by Cortex A8 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz with Dual Mali 400 GPU. The RAM is 512MB and internal storage is 4GB. The press release does not mention if the tablet has an HDMI port, however it does state that you can watch 2160P HD videos which are possible only via HDMI port. So probably this is not an Allwinner A13 instead it could be the Allwinner A10 CPU.

MicroSD card is supported. The screen size is 7 inches supporting 800×480 pixels resolution with 16.7 million colours (Multi touch supported). The tablet has got a sleek design, is slim and comfortable to hold. It is available in Slate Grey colour only.

Other features
The Micromax Funbook Infinity runs on ICS (Android 4.0.4 version) and gives full access to Google Play. For connectivity there is Wi-Fi, USB port which can be used to connect a compatible 3G dongle. There is no built in 3G SIM slot. Micromax claims that Tata Photon + dongle are compatible.

All are well aware of the hardware that is capable of playing various audio and video formats and not to forget many high end games. There are dual speaker on the front side for crystal clear sound and give a totally new experience (stereo sound) when watching movies / playing games. The Funbook also comes with Edutainment material for which consumers will have to pay some extra amount.

The main highlight is dual cameras, a standard 0.3 MP (VGA) camera on the front side that most tablets usually come with and another 2MP camera placed at the rear. The 2MP camera is with fixed focus.  The quality is good for sharing on Facebook and on other social networks or via email.

4000 mAh Battery
The battery is of 4000 mAh capacity and Micromax claims that the Funbook Infinity can last for about 260 hours in standby mode and users can continuously surf the net for more than 6 hours. On a full battery charge you can expect the handset to last for more than 6 hours.

Micromax Funbook Infinity review

Funbook Infinity review (P275)
The battery mAh is really good you almost get 30% to 40% extra juice as compared with Funbook Alpha. The 2MP rear camera is not worth talking about, but the stereo speaker on the front side is a center of attraction.  The processing speed I believe will be 1.0 GHz instead of 1.2 as seen on almost all Allwinner A10 CPU. The display / resolution are of standard size including the RAM of 512MB.  For the price this is a good buy.
